Pictures June 2012

This is one of my neighbours cat. He/she is sooooo cute.

My raspberry bush is looking good. Lots of berries,  we've had a couple already.

Our double-decker planter is looking good. On the bottom we have brocoli and carrots.

Carrots. I hear they don't get very big.

I've never grown brocoli before. It should be interesting.

The hydrangea is starting to bloom.

Straw flowers. I am kinda excited to see these grow. We grabbed some seeds from someones lawn.
Peace Yo!

Pinky munching on some catnip. Yummy.

I love the Japanese Blood Grass in the late afternoon.

Pam's Cafe!

Lots of Black Eye Susan's.

Rob & Daniela's Planters

Rob and Daniela wanted planters for this trough. It's pretty long, 15 feet. So I built three 5 foot planters.

They wanted the blue insulation which I am starting to see other people use. I  like working with it better than the plastic and it'll definitely protect the plants better for winter if you have perennials.

Tessa's Planters

I built 2 of these 4 feet X 4 feet planteers out of 1 X 6 Cedar deck boards. There's no bottom because their for a  in ground garden. I need to get some up to date photos of what the garden looks like.

Spring Is Here

Spring is here again and I am pretty excited for another planting season. We were away for most of January and February in Java and Bali. The trip was pretty awesome and we saw and did some cool things which includes climbing a volcano and swimming in a canyon. I built a planter for the Toronto District School Board in conjunction with The Permaculture Project, GTA for school kids. Check it out.

The window will have a plexi-glass for kids to see through. The handles and castors are put in so they can move it.

I saw these in Java, Indonesia. Cool!

Someone decided to make planters for bicycles.  Hmmm... I kinda like it.

Paul's Planters

I built these two planters for Paul recently. He's using them for a bamboo wall on his balcony. They are 56" long by 13.5" deep by 24" high.

Pictures May/June 2011

I don't what kind of flower this is but it's pretty.

This is what happens when you use mattress cover plastic for your planters ;(

So I took out all the soil and relined it. What a pain in the arse.

Japanese Blood Grass planter. I removed the side slats and tried to remove the soil in pieces to try and save the grass in intact

Relined

It worked!

The Blood Grass is starting to grow.
